At Mag-Tec Casting Corporation we specialize in turnkey production of high-quality aluminum, zinc, and magnesium die castings. Our comprehensive lineup of services incorporates prototyping and tooling design, short and long production runs, CNC machining, finishing, and coating. With die casting machines in the 600-ton to 1200-ton range, we manufacture net shape castings weighing from 8 oz. to 20 lbs. with dimensions of up to 20” long x 20” wide x 20” high.
Tooling design is one of our strengths. Working with customer specifications, we consider all aspects of the design and how the metal will flow within the tool to build dies that produce geometrically complex parts to near net shape. With our history of innovation, we design tools for richly-featured parts with variable wall thickness, holes, threads, internal features, and other necessary elements to avoid secondary operations. We build precision-tolerance molds from high-quality tool steel, and by implementing strategies such as predictive wear analysis, these molds withstand production runs from 75k to 250k without needing maintenance.
As a progressive company in the area of die casting, we manufacture parts from a variety of magnesium, aluminum, and zinc alloys and can experiment with different non-ferrous alloy compositions to obtain the required characteristics for performance and wear. Our die casting processes are computer-controlled and closely monitored to ensure the highest level of accuracy and repeatability. To support end-to-end production, we operate an in-house machining department and offer an extensive selection of finishing and coating options.
Throughout the entire production cycle, our technically skilled specialists utilize high-tech measuring and test equipment as well as conventional tools to ensure parts conform to specifications. As an ISO 9001 certified die casting company, our customers expect — and we deliver — parts that exhibit the highest caliber of quality. Serving customers in the transportation, electrical, energy, automotive, and consumer products, we accept orders from one hundred to one million. At Mag-Tec Casting Corporation, our facility houses a fully equipped machine shop with precision capabilities. We have both 4-axis and 5-axis multi-tasking CNC machining centers that we use for milling, boring, turning, turning, and threading, etc. die-cast parts. Although we produce high accuracy die castings, many require secondary machining and our tooling designers, casting technicians, and machinists work as a team to facilitate the process. We have exceptional skills in designing dedicated fixtures and establishing machining setups that correctly orient and align die-cast parts for accurate and repeatable results.
Our operators obtain precision accuracy when machining aluminum, magnesium, and zinc die castings with elaborate designs and critical tolerance requirements. Able to operate at fast speeds and perform simultaneous cutting, our equipment allows us to accelerate cycle time. With our machining expertise, we can meet the challenges of any dimensional and cosmetic inspection criteria.
Our machining work envelope is 36” x 36” x 20” We carry out quality inspections per customer specifications, and our capabilities include visual, CMM, and gauge inspections as well as penetrant testing to check for dimensional accuracy and surface defects. With the capacity to manage the machining requirements of short-run to high volume production orders, we serve customers in a range of industries including transportation, electrical, energy, automotive, and consumer products. For more information about our CNC machining capabilities or our die casting services, contact us directly.

Mag-Tec Corporation offers full prototyping capabilities for design verification, tooling verification, and testing. We leverage several different methods for prototyping based on the stage of product development and specific customer requirements. From proof of principle prototypes to small production runs of the final product, we have strategies and resources to accommodate any request.
Prototype
We build early-stage representations to provide stakeholders prototypes using several different methods with tradeoffs between tolerances and material properties. Examples include plaster castings, machined versions, or die-cast samples using prototype tooling. Materials available consist of a selection of diecasting materials, including special alloys of magnesium, aluminum, zinc.
For prototyping, our lead time is as short as two weeks. We can leverage the prototype tooling to generate small quantities of parts while we build the production tooling. Serving customers in a diversity of industries, including transportation, electrical, energy, automotive, and consumer products.
We offer to prototype as an element of our overall manufacturing programs, which, along with to die casting, including engineering, machining, inspection, finishing, and assembly. Contact us directly to learn more about our prototyping services for die cast parts or any of our other manufacturing capabilities.

To support our die casting operations, our facility at Mag-Tec Casting Corporation houses a fully equipped tool room to maintain production tooling. Along with magnesium, aluminum, and zinc casting dies, we build trim dies as well as inspection gauges and checking, inspection, and assembly fixtures.
We build dies and fixtures to optimize quality, reduce cycle time, and comply with forecasted service life, whether its long term or short-term production. With our blend of engineering and technical capabilities, we design the casting molds to obtain the correct geometry, dimensions, and surface qualities of the die-cast part. We then simulate all aspects of the casting process, such as melt flow and cooling, to ensure the integrity of the manufacturing process.
Our tool and die design services include thorough and diligent inspection using high caliber instruments and devices to ensure an extreme level of accuracy. We generate samples and prototypes for evaluation and testing and provide quality reports as necessary. Throughout the life of the tooling, we carry out ongoing inspection and maintenance, and we keep complete tool history documentation.
