Welding Technician
This position is responsible for the fabrication, assembly and repair of metal components using welding processes such as MIG, TIG and stick welding. Work includes interpreting blueprints, weld symbols and work instructions, selecting appropriate materials and settings and producing welds that meet quality, strength and appearance standards. The role supports a variety of production and custom fabrication needs in a manufacturing or shop environment.
Daily responsibilities include setting up and operating welding equipment, cutting and fitting materials, verifying dimensions and performing visual and basic dimensional inspections of finished work. The Welding Technician follows established procedures, maintains a clean and organized work area and complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
This role works closely with supervisors, engineers and other team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations. Troubleshooting weld issues, making adjustments to improve consistency and documenting work as required are regular parts of the job. The position may involve working with carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum in different thicknesses and configurations.
Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Consistent attendance, safe equipment operation and a willingness to learn new processes or certifications are expected as production demands evolve.
